DMK Chief Stalin did not like PM Modi's speech, says this

Chennai: DMK Chief M.K. Stalin has on Tuesday questioned PM Narendra Modi's address to the countrymen regarding the lockdown. In fact, PM Modi in his address to the nation has announced to extend the nationwide lockdown till May 3. Reacting to this, DMK Chief Stalin said that people expected that PM Narendra Modi would announce relief measures, cash and other assistance. It was not expected that the PM would only advise.

DMK Chief Stalin further said that PM Modi had not made any relief announcement even in his earlier address. No such announcement was present in his address on Tuesday. According to Stalin, the government should have announced adequate schemes to protect the people financially. Stalin also said that the Modi government's decisions, such as the purchase of medical equipment, withdrawal of funds from MPs Local Area Development Scheme and not given the money requested by the Tamil Nadu government, were not in the interest of the people.

At the same time, CPIM leader Sitaram Yechury has also said that PM Narendra Modi was expected to present a roadmap in his address today on how to deal with the situation caused by the Korna virus. In particular, people whose livelihood has been put at risk due to this epidemic. But he did not present any such roadmap. Sitaram Yechury said that his party wants to give some suggestions to the Modi government at the Center.
