It has been found that the rain in the mountainous districts of the state is continuously decreasing. Not only this, the difference between seasons in the state is also disappearing. The rain is decreasing during the rainy season and the winters are decreasing now. According to the report, the effect of this change may emerge more rapidly in the coming time.

Ice and glacier
According to the report, due to global warming, glaciers are melting rapidly and due to this, glacier lakes are also being formed. It is also affecting the rivers. The length of the Kosi tributaries in the Kosi watershed area was about 225 kilometers, which has now reduced to 41 kilometers.

Vanagni is harming biodiversity
It has been accepted in the report that the state is very fortunate in terms of biodiversity, but forest fires are causing great harm to this biodiversity. It has also been found that most of the fires are man-made and pine forests are more vulnerable to it.

The Pancheshwar dam will affect 193 varieties of trees and medicinal plants, 43 types of mammals, about 70 types of birds, 47 types of butterflies and 30 types of fish. Similarly, Tehri Dam has also been affected.
