Muzaffarpur: Vaccination drive is being carried out at a rapid pace in every part of the country amid increasing corona cases Meanwhile, the health department has taken important steps to meet the 100 percent target of corona vaccination in Muzaffarpur district of Bihar. Vaccination was being affected by the floods in the district. In view of this, the vaccine boat will now rotate in the flood-affected areas and people will be given the corona vaccine.
The same vaccine boat was launched in Katra block on Friday. It was inaugurated by Civil Surgeon Dr. Vinay Kumar Sharma. The first and unique attempt of this kind has been made in the state for vaccination. The civil surgeon said the vaccination drive is a challenge in the flood area. Even then, in the light of the direction given by the Collector, the Health Department is engaged in making the vaccine program successful with full commitment.
In the first phase, two vaccine boats have been introduced in Katra block which will also have two ANMs, two verifiers, divers, and sailors on each boat. The availability of the boat will be ensured by the district administration while ANM and divers have been provided by the health department. Both these boats will go to 14 flood-affected Panchayats of Katra and carry out vaccination work. The civil surgeon said it will also be operated in flood-affected areas like Gaighat, Orai if required. All arrangements have been made for health workers on the boat.
