Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh: With the air buzzing in anticipation of the grand Ram Temple consecration scheduled for January 22 next year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to arrive in Ayodhya on Saturday to inaugurate several projects, including the Amrit Bharat and Vande Bharat trains.
The bustling Ayodhya Cantonment Railway station has welcomed the arrival of the Amrit Bharat and Vande Bharat trains, ready for the official flag-off by PM Modi.
During his visit to the temple town, the Prime Minister will initiate the launch of two Amrit Bharat and six Vande Bharat trains from the revamped Ayodhya Dham Railway Station.
The Amrit Bharat trains, a new category of swift passenger trains, boast the LHB push-pull feature. These trains, however, come with non-air-conditioned coaches, equipped with locos at both ends for enhanced acceleration. Passengers can expect improved amenities, including well-designed seats, better luggage racks, mobile charging points with suitable holders, LED lights, CCTV surveillance, and a public information system.
The new Amrit Bharat trains are scheduled to operate as the Darbhanga-Ayodhya-Anand Vihar Terminal Amrit Bharat Express and the Malda Town-Sir M. Visvesvaraya Terminus (Bengaluru) Amrit Bharat Express.
Among the Vande Bharat trains to be flagged off are the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express, Amritsar-Delhi Vande Bharat Express, Coimbatore-Bangalore Cantt Vande Bharat Express, Mangalore-Madgaon Vande Bharat Express, Jalna-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express, and Ayodhya-Anand Vihar Terminal Vande Bharat Express.
Prime Minister will also dedicate three railway projects valued at Rs 2300 crore to fortify the region's rail infrastructure. These projects encompass the Rooma Chakeri-Chanderi third line project, sections of the Jaunpur-Ayodhya-Barabanki doubling project, and the doubling and electrification project of the Malhaur-Daliganj railway section.
The much-anticipated Phase I inauguration of the redeveloped Ayodhya Railway Station, named Ayodhya Dham Junction Railway Station, will also take place today. The station, developed at a cost exceeding Rs 240 crore, comprises a three-storey building equipped with modern facilities like lifts, escalators, food plazas, shops catering to religious needs, cloakrooms, child care rooms, and waiting halls. It is designed to be 'accessible for all' and holds an 'IGBC-certified green station building' tag.
PM Modi is also set to inaugurate the Maharishi Valmiki International Airport Ayodhya Dham, Phase 1 of which has been established at a cost exceeding Rs 1450 crore. The airport's terminal building, spanning 6500 sqm, is geared to serve approximately 10 lakh passengers annually.
The terminal's exterior reflects the architectural essence of the forthcoming Shri Ram Mandir of Ayodhya, while the interiors showcase local art, paintings, and murals depicting the life of Bhagwan Shri Ram. Sustainability takes center stage in the airport's design, featuring insulated roofing, LED lighting, rainwater harvesting, landscaped areas with fountains, water and sewage treatment plants, a solar power setup, aiming for a GRIHA - 5-star rating.
The Ayodhya Airport's launch is expected to enhance regional connectivity, fostering growth in tourism and business activities, and paving the way for fresh employment prospects.
