Vande Bharat Express derails in Gujarat, front portion of train's engine damaged

Gandhinagar: The Vande Bharat Express, which runs between Mumbai Central and Gandhinagar in Gujarat, met with an accident on Thursday. The accident took place around 11.15 am when a herd of buffaloes came on the railway line between Vatva station and Maninagar. The front portion of the train's engine was damaged. All passengers are safe. Senior PRO of Western Railway JK Jayanthi has given information in this regard.

Let us know that PM Narendra Modi flagged off this train on September 30. He had flagged off the train from Gandhinagar. The train left platform 9 of Ahmedabad railway station at 2 pm and reached Mumbai Central railway station at 7.30 pm. The new 'Vande Bharat Express' semi-high speed train had scheduled a 492-km journey between Ahmedabad and Mumbai in five-and-a-half hours. This train connecting the capitals of Maharashtra and Gujarat is the third train in the chain of Vande Bharat trains, which has been operated in the country.

The first train of this series started between New Delhi and Varanasi, while the second train started between New Delhi and Mata Vaishno Devi, Katra. The Gandhinagar-Mumbai Vande Bharat Superfast Express started for the general public on October 1. It will operate six days a week except for Sundays. The train departs from Mumbai Central station at 6.10 am and reaches Gandhinagar at 12.30 pm.
