Veerashaiva Mahasabha pens down to CM Kumaraswamy

On Monday, All India Veerashaiva Mahasabha pens down to Karnataka Chief Minister-designate HD Kumaraswamy. The letter consists of a request to Kumaraswamy to appoint their national president Shamanur Shivashankarappa as the Home Minister of the Karnataka. In his letter, All India Veerashaiva Mahasabha also asked that five other leaders from their community be made ministers in the cabinet.

Earlier on Saturday, Chief Minister-elect H.D. Kumaraswamy was invited by Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala to form the government in Karnataka. Governor took this step after Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) B.S. Yeddyurappa stepped down ahead of the floor test in the state assembly.

Recently in Karnataka state assembly elections, the Congress emerged as the second largest party. Congress has joined up an agreement with the Janata Dal (Secular) to form a government in the Karnataka state.

While earlier Kumaraswamy was supposed to swear-in as Karnataka Chief Minister on Monday. The ceremony later got pushed to Wednesday due to the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.


Meanwhile, in a bid of a hung assembly in Cauvery disputed state Karnataka Congress president Rahul Gandhi has reportedly denied permission to senior Congress leaders Siddaramaiah, DK Shivakumar and G Parameshwara for coming to Delhi for negotiations on the formation of JDS-Congress alliance government in Karnataka.​
