Bollywood veteran lyricist Anwar Sagar has passed away. He was 70 years old. He breathed his last at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai on Wednesday. The reason for his death has not been known. Akshay Kumar and Ayesha Julka's film Khiladi's song 'Vaada Raha Sanam' has been included in his most popular songs. Anwar wrote lyrics for many popular Bollywood films of the 80s and 90s and many films like David Dhawan's Yarana, Jackie Shroff starrer Sapne Saajan, Akshay Kumar's Khiladi, Main Khiladi Tu Anari, Ajay Devgn starrer Vijayapath.


The Indian Performing Rights Society has also tweeted a post on his death. "Veteran lyricist and IPRS member Anwar Sagar have passed away. Known for writing songs like 'Vaadaa Raha Sanam', he also penned lyrics for iconic movies like #Vijaypath & #Yaraana. Our thoughts & prayers are with his family in this difficult time. May his soul #RIP."

In the past few days, many veteran Bollywood actors have said goodbye to this world. Artists like Irrfan Khan and Rishi Kapoor died in the month of April. Singer and music composer Wajid Khan died recently at the age of 42 and besides last month, senior lyricist Yogesh Gaur has also embraced death.
