The 10th edition of Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit is scheduled from 2024 January 10th to 12th. Gujarat's Energy Minister, Kanu Desai, unveiled an ambitious roadmap for renewable energy at the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2024. Desai emphasized Gujarat's pivotal role in the renewable energy and solar rooftop sectors, particularly highlighting the state's advancements under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.
In an interview with media housr, Desai underscored Gujarat's proactive measures to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply, citing the success of the Jyotigram scheme. This initiative, initiated by PM Modi, notably brought 24-hour electricity even to the remote regions, including Gujarat's tribal district, Dang.
Desai proudly mentioned Gujarat's achievements in renewable energy, stating, "Gujarat excels in both wind and solar energy." The state currently boasts an impressive wind power capacity of 11,000 MW and a solar power capacity of 10,000 MW, making it the second-best state for renewable energy in India.
Highlighting Gujarat's prowess in the energy sector, Desai revealed that the state has an overall installed capacity of 48,500 MW, setting it apart as a national leader.
Addressing global commitments towards carbon neutrality, Desai reiterated PM Modi's vision for a carbon-free world by 2070. Gujarat has set ambitious targets, aiming to generate 1000 GW of electricity from renewables by 2030, in line with the national goal of 500 MW by the same year.
Looking ahead to the Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2024, Desai announced a significant focus on hydrogen production alongside renewable energy. He anticipates substantial investments during the summit, particularly directed towards renewable energy and semiconductor sectors, showcasing Gujarat's dedication to sustainable and cutting-edge technologies.
Desai emphasized, "Vibrant 2024 places strong emphasis on hydrogen production alongside renewable energy, with major investments geared towards renewable and semiconductor technologies."
As Gujarat positions itself as a frontrunner in the renewable energy landscape, the Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2024 is poised to exhibit the state's commitment to a greener and technologically advanced future.
