New Delhi: Rahul Gandhi, the Congress leader, made a noteworthy appearance on Thursday when he visited Delhi's Anand Vihar Railway Station and actively participated in the daily work of the porters. Donning a distinctive red "coolie" shirt and sporting a badge fastened to his arm, he enthusiastically carried luggage atop his head.

In a video that quickly went viral, a group of porters can be seen gathering around the Member of Parliament from Wayanad, carefully placing a trolley bag on his head. With a cheerful demeanor, Gandhi firmly held onto the bag and gracefully navigated his way through the bustling crowd of porters, who erupted in enthusiastic chants of "Rahul Gandhi Zindabad." Another video showcased the Congress leader being attired in the iconic red coolie attire, with a porter affixing a badge to his arm. All of this unfolded as the 53-year-old leader arrived at the railway station with the intention of addressing the issues confronting the hardworking porters and laborers there, as stated by the Congress party.

"Today, Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the people, met with the porters at Anand Vihar railway station in Delhi. Recently, a video had gone viral, wherein the station's porters had expressed their desire to meet him. Today, Rahul reached out to them and attentively listened to their concerns. The journey to unite India continues," the party shared on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Srinivas BV, the president of the Youth Congress, also shared the video of Rahul Gandhi shouldering the baggage at the railway station, accompanied by the iconic song "Hum Mehnatkash Is Duniya Se" from the 1983 film "Mazdoor." The youth leader captioned the post as "People's Hero."

This visit marks the latest endeavor in the Congress scion's ongoing efforts to engage with the public. In the past, the Member of Parliament met with a group of delivery workers in Bengaluru, even taking a ride on one of their scooters. He also paid a visit to the Azadpur Mandi in Delhi, where he engaged in conversations with vendors and laborers.
