The Minority Rights Forum and other organizations called against the Civil Rights Act (CAA) and the National Citizenship Register (NRC), passed by Parliament, were seen in Ahmedabad, Vadodara closed Muslim-dominated areas, while the bandh in other areas. The effect was there. On this occasion, ABVP protested in support of this law, while NSUI also demonstrated against it. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said that both CAA and NRC laws will be implemented in Gujarat.

On Thursday, several organizations including the Minorities Adhikar Manch, Shramik Congress Organization, Anhad, Ahmedabad Auto Association announced the strike of Hamdabad, Vadodara, Godhra and Panchmahal. Advocate Shamshad Pathan said that the bandh was successful in several markets in Ahmedabad, Vadodara. Social organizations, labor organizations and business organizations also supported the shutdown. In Ahmedabad, Muslim-dominated areas like Kalupur, Shahpur, Juhapura, Dariyapur etc. were seen to be affected, while life in other areas was normal. Earlier, several NSUI activists protesting against the citizenship law were arrested.

Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, while discussing with journalists in Gandhinagar, announced the implementation of NRC and CAA in Gujarat for the first time. CM Vijay Rupani said that it is necessary to give shelter in India to the minority community of those provinces facing persecution based on religion in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. CM Rupani said that the only India in the world can be a shelter for them, in such a situation the Gujarat government is in support of both the laws of the Center. CM Rupani also said that the CAA and NRC created by the Center will be applicable in the entire country, no state can refuse to implement these laws. Giving citizenship is a matter of center, so both these laws will soon be implemented in India.
