TUMAKURU: Former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa denied rumours that his son B.Y. Vijayendra will not run in the forthcoming state assembly elections, claiming that Vijayendra would contest.

"However, he has not yet determined which constituency he would run in. The party will determine which leaders would be given which tasks "According to Yediyurappa.

"The statewide tour has begun, with the goal is to win 140 assembly seats and bring the BJP to power in the 2023 elections. I plan to visit each district in the state and speak with party officials "He had informed me.

Yediyurappa said, "People from all walks of life would be taken along. Many leaders have expressed an interest in joining the BJP. Those who can help the celebration grow would be welcomed. Many people have already signed up." This is the second time Yediyurappa has made a public declaration about his son's electoral campaign. Vijayendra, who is currently the party's vice president, was recently denied a ticket to run in the MLC elections. The party had already denied him a ticket to run in the 2018 assembly elections from the Varuna constituency.

Vijayendra's elevation, according to party leaders, would lead to another power struggle within the BJP. To the anger of Yediyurappa's critics within the party, Minister for Sports and Youth Services Narayana Gowda declared that Vijayendra had the capacity to be the next Chief Minister.

"Vijayendra to contest next assembly polls", says Yediyurappa
