New Delhi: These days there is a rage over the country regarding the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Some people are supporting it, some people oppose it. However, it is the right of every Indian to give his opinion or feedback on every law of the country and to question or oppose it if it seems wrong, but that method should be democratic.
But there are also questions on the kind of protests that are being seen in recent times. In fact, for the last few days, the most fierce demonstrations are coming out in Jamia Millia Islamia University (JMIU) in Delhi, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) in Aligarh and in West Bengal. The people of Assam are protesting against the Assam Accord of 1985, while the Home Minister has said that the CAA will not apply to the states of the Northeast.
At the same time, the demonstrations that are going on in JMUI and AMU also include violence. Media reports have also surfaced about the police throwing stones, as well as several buses have been blown up, causing thousands of crores of damage. In West Bengal too, train tracks have been uprooted and buses have been set on fire in many places. Even if this demonstration is being done for the right thing, many people are still condemning this method. It remains to be seen what steps the government takes on this issue.
