Kolkata: Team India captain Virat Kohli and vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane have together made a major achievement in Test cricket. The two shared a 99-run partnership for the fourth wicket on the second day of the ongoing Day-Night Test at the Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata. With this, it has become the number two pair for most runs in the fourth wicket of both the Tests.

The pair of Kohli and Rahane have also left Pakistan's Inzamam-ul-Haq-Mohammad Yusuf, Sourav Ganguly-Sachin Tendulkar of India, Mahela Jayawardene-Thilan Samaraweera of Sri Lanka behind. Kohli and Rahane are now behind only Misbah ul Haq and Younis Khan of Pakistan. Both of them have shared 2763 runs in 42 innings. Inzamam-Yusuf has scored 2677 runs in 50 innings, Ganguly-Tendulkar has scored 2695 runs in 44 innings, Jayawardene and Samaraweera have scored 2710 runs in 46 innings.
