Indore: The two-match Test series between India and Bangladesh has begun. The first match is being played at Holkar Stadium in Indore which will run from 14 to 18 November. Captain Virat Kohli returned to the pavilion without opening an account in India's first innings on the second day of this match. Virat was dismissed by Bangladeshi paceman Abu Zayed LBW. With this, Virat has become the fifth Indian batsman to be dismissed for zero in the Test against Bangladesh.

A total of five Indian batsmen have been dismissed for zero in Test matches played against Bangladesh so far. It includes Wasim Jaffer, Zaheer Khan, Rahul Dravid, Dinesh Karthik and Virat Kohli. Jaffer and Zaheer Khan were the most ducked out. Both of them returned to the pavilion twice without scoring any runs. According to data on Cricinfo, Virat has played a total of 140 innings in Test cricket, in which he has returned to the pavilion 10 times. Let me tell you that it took Kohli seven innings to score his first Test half-century. At the same time, his first century came in the 15th innings.

There are two teams in the history of Test cricket against whom Virat Kohli has returned to the pavilion at most 3-3 times. These two teams are Australia and England. Kohli was sent back on duck in 2011, 2017 and 2018 against Australia.  At the same time, he returned on zero twice against England in 2014 and 2018..
