New Delhi: The final match of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) between India and New Zealand is being played in Southampton. In this match, New Zealand won the first toss and elected to field first. Today is the second day of the title clash. The toss could not be done on the first day due to bad weather and rain. The match started ahead of schedule to make up for the time. Virat Kohli is playing his sixth match against New Zealand as captain.

But statistics show that Virat Kohli has never been good for India by losing the toss against New Zealand as a captain. His captaincy record against the New Zealand team in Tests says that whenever he lost the toss, Team India lost the match. Virat Kohli lost the toss for the third time in the Test against New Zealand today. He had earlier lost two tosses during the Test series on the tour of New Zealand. Team India had suffered a setback in both those encounters. Virat lost the toss once again in the WTC final. Cricket fans are worried that the match may not go out of the hands of the Virat Brigade.

Virat Kohli's over-all record as captain against New Zealand is somewhat better. In the three Tests against the Kiwis that Virat has won under his captaincy, Team India has managed to beat New Zealand. So far, Virat Kohli has played 5 Tests as captain against New Zealand, winning 3 and losing 2 matches. So the figures so far show that Virat's toss win in the Test against New Zealand leads to India's victory and defeat when they lose. It remains to be seen whether Virat WTC change this record in the final.
