Indian cricket team player Virat Kohli on Thursday announced that he will step down from the captaincy of Team India T20 format. Kohli will leave the captaincy of the format after the T20 World Cup in October. However, he will continue to captain Tests and ODIs. Kohli shared the post on social media and reported his decision to quit the captaincy and surprised everyone. After Virat's announcement to quit the captaincy, a piece of shocking information is emerging.

According to sources, Virat Kohli wanted to remove Rohit Sharma from the post of vice-captaincy. Virat had approached the selectors with a proposal to remove Rohit from the vice-captaincy in limited-overs. The Indian Captain said that Rohit is now 34 years old. In such a situation, KL Rahul in ODIs and Rishabh Pant in T20Is should be made vice-captains. Kohli's proposal, however, did not go down well with the board as he said Virat really did not want any of his successors.

This is not the first time that controversies between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have come to light. The 2019 ODI World Cup revealed that Virat and Rohit do not even talk to each other. However, head coach Ravi Shastri later denied all this. Not only that but it was also revealed that Rohit has unfollowed Virat on social media. There was also no reality in this.
