Where there is a will, there is a way.... Vision is not just seeing with your eyes but dreaming with your heart...... Yes, Ruhin Bhattasali, a visually impaired girl from Hyderabad, has achieved a remarkable milestone by securing admission to IIT Hyderabad's Computer Science Engineering program.

From a young age, Ruhin displayed a strong determination to excel academically. Her parents and teachers recognized her potential early on and provided unwavering support and encouragement.

Ruhin's exceptional skills in mental calculations, particularly in Math and Physics, stood out, and her teachers focused on nurturing these talents. Her hard work paid off when she scored an impressive 98.2%, or 491 out of 500 marks, in her Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) senior school certificate examination, the results of which were announced on May 13.

"I initially wanted to pursue astrophysics, but due to accessibility challenges, I opted for computer science," Ruhin explained. A student of Ganges Valley School, Ruhin is the only child of Rahul Bhattasali and Manjusha Chowdhury, who moved to Hyderabad for her eye surgery and regular eye tests at LV Prasad Eye Institute since 2011. Ruhin, diagnosed with glaucoma, has been declared 100% visually impaired as per her medical reports in 2020.

"She is very focused and determined. We suggested subjects like economics, but she insisted on studying science," said Ms. Manjusha, who, along with her husband, read out Ruhin's coursework and lessons every day. Ruhin's favorite subjects are Mathematics and Physics. She credits her success to the support of her parents, friends, and teachers. Currently, she is preparing for the JEE (Advanced) test.

Ruhin's extraordinary journey has inspired other visually impaired students to overcome obstacles and pursue their dreams, paving the way for those with similar aspirations.
