New Delhi: The right to information (RTI) reply received by RTI activist Vivek Pandey has put the Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government in the dock. The RTI questioned the use of money in the name of 'Mukhyamantri Septic Tank Safai Yojana', in which the Kejriwal government gave separate answers in 2 different RTI on money and also revealed a mess of Rs 45 crore.

In fact, the scheme was launched by the Delhi government in November 2019 in the name of the safety of sanitation workers and proper management of waste. Accordingly, the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) was to deploy 80 trucks to clean and maintain septic tanks in the capital Delhi. In this regard, an RTI filed by RTI activist Vivek Pandey on Friday (December 17, 2021) was responded to by the DJB. In response to the RTI, it was stated that the Delhi Government had allocated Rs.50 crore for 2019-20 and Rs.110 crore for 2020-21. It may be noted that no funds allocated by the Government for the year 2019-20 were utilized at all. At the same time, the Kejriwal government spent Rs 113.35 crore for 2020-21, while the allocated amount was Rs 110 crore. Similarly, the same situation was seen for 2021-22, for these years, the Delhi government spent Rs. 4.96 crore even after no funds were allocated.

Earlier, another RTI was filed by Vivek on 24th February 2021. The reply raised big questions about the intention of the Delhi government. In response to this RTI, an allocation of Funds of Rs. In the December RTI, the amount reached Rs 50 crore.  The responses of both the RTI made it clear that the allocated amount was not used for the public. Vivek Pandey also questioned the disappearance of 45 crores.

He shared screenshots of the two RTI and tweeted that "RTI was filed in the #DLJBD to seek information on the Chief Minister's Septic Tank Cleaning Scheme. There were two different answers in the same RTI. The funds released in 19-20 were 5 crores and 50 crores in the recent RTI. What happened to Rs 45 crore?' Speaking to the media, Pandey said that sewer pipes are not available in unauthorised colonies and hence there is a great need for septic tanks in those areas. Even after getting enough money, DJB has failed to use it.
