Police denied news of gas leak in Vishakhapatnam again

Amidst the havoc of Corona, Andhra Pradesh Police has denied the news of a gas leak in Visakhapatnam's LG Polymer Industry again. Police said that the maintenance team was repairing the system and during this time the vapour has gone out. As a precaution, an area within 2 km radius of the gas leakage area has been ordered to be evacuated.

Apart from this, requesting people not to believe fake news about the gas leak amidst the gas leak, Visakhapatnam Police Commissioner RK Meena said that there is nothing to panic. He said that as a precaution, people coming within 2 km radius of the incident are requested to vacate the area. People outside the radius of 2 km do not have to come on the road or evacuate the area. The National Green Tribunal (NGT) took automatic cognizance of the incident of Visakhapatnam gas leak on Thursday and decided to hear the matter today. The bench headed by NGT President AK Goyal is scheduled to hear the case.

11 people died in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, in a gas leak accident in the early hours of Thursday. The state government has ordered an inquiry to find out the cause of the accident. Apart from this, a compensation of Rs1 crore has been announced for the families of the deceased.
