CHENNAI:  Since the medical aspirants in Tamil Nadu prepare for NEET on July 17, VKC (Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi) assembly floor leader Sinthanai Selvan has urged the State government to increase the number of free NEET coaching centres to cater to more students.

Sinthanai Selvan, the VCK floor leader in the Tamil Nadu Assembly, said that although the party opposes the NEET exam, it is in favor of more free NEET coaching facilities being offered to assist the underprivileged and underprivileged students.

The MLA added that although the VCK offered free coaching sessions for the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC), it did not operate a free NEET training facility because doing so would have been expensive and the party did not have the resources to do so.  Sinthanai Selvan also said that the party had asked the Chief Minister to provide more NEET coaching facilities for pupils from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

According to the legislative party head of the VCK, the state's NEET will soon be offered at a number of institutions that charge high tuition. He asserted that in order to serve kids from underserved areas and students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, the government must construct free NEET coaching centres.

It is to be noted that the VCK has vigorously opposed the NEET exam for admission to MBBS and other related courses and is a member of the DMK alliance in Tamil Nadu.
