Vodafone India’s director(commercial), Sandeep Kataria says,” We strongly believe that tariffs are not a long-term differentiator," on the free calling plans offered by Jio. Vodafone on the growing popularity of Jio sim commented that 4G only services along with low tariffs are not enough to snatch the market from the companies that are firm and strong.
Although, as we know the launch of the new Jio sim has caused a lot trouble for telecom giants such as, Airtel, Vodafone and Idea cellular networks. This step has generated fear for tariff war which is about to began in the coming months. To sustain their old customers these companies now have to make certain things cheaper and by sugarcoating the deals for them.
Mr. Kataria when talking about Vodafone’s new ‘Flexi recharge’ said “This is applicable for everybody, even for the people with 2G and 3G connection, this product is meant for a small set”
Also further comparing with Jio the Vodafone spokesperson said, that not only cheap internet and tariffs are important customer service and quality of operations are also important for keeping your customers engaged to you. These have been the key focus area for Vodafone.
