With this, the Metrological department has issued an orange alert in eight districts of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Mallappuram and Kozhikode for 9 June. There will be a red alert in Thrissur on June 10. A red alert has been issued on June 11 in Ernakulam, Malappuram and Kozhikode district. Heavy to very heavy rain is feared in these areas.
