Mumbai: 22 people have so far been killed when a wall collapsed due to heavy rains in  Mumbai and adjoining areas. The entire city of Mumbai is witnessing water logging due to the rain in the past two days. Homes, offices, banks, schools and even police stations have been flooded. As trains are crawling on the roads, the tracks of the local train, known as Mumbai's lifeline, are overflowing.

The Met Department has predicted heavy rain in Mumbai for the next two days. Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis has urged people to stay indoors. "The weather department is again anticipating heavy rains today," CM Devendra Fadnavis wrote on his Twitter account. People are advised to stay in their homes if there is no emergency work. According to the Met Department website, similar weather is expected in Mumbai till 5th July.

School colleges in Navi Mumbai, Thane and Konkan will remain closed. Several flights have been diverted from Mumbai to Ahmedabad due to rain. 54 flights have been diverted from Mumbai airport. The BMMP has ordered the closure of all school colleges in Mumbai due to heavy rains. Maharashtra Education Minister Ashish Shelar has also announced that all schools (private and government) in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane and Konkan region will remain closed on July 2.
