Met Office warns Mumbai to face a heavy downpour

Mumbai: Mumbai is witnessing severe rain on Tuesday. Met Department has issued a heavy rain warning in Mumbai. According to the Met Department forecast, there may be heavy rain at many places in Mumbai. Following the Met Department's warning, the BMC said it is fully prepared to deal with every situation.

The Met Department has said that heavy rain may occur in some areas of Mumbai and suburbs. In view of the rain, Angusio has been put on alert. However, there is no rain in Mumbai right now. It is worth mentioning here that life in Mumbai was badly affected after heavy rains earlier on Saturday. 11 flights were canceled on Saturday due to heavy rains, while nine flights to Mumbai were sent to nearby airports. However, the flood-like situation was created in low lying areas.

Earlier, the Mumbai-based Regional Meteorological Centre had issued an orange alert for rain in Thane and Pune on Friday. Heavy rain is expected in Thane and Raigad, including Mumbai, the Centre said. The red alert was issued in Palghar for july 26 and 28.
