According to the information received, the department has issued a red alert to six districts of Madhya Pradesh, Hoshangabad, Jabalpur, Betul, Narsinghpur, Seoni and Harda districts.

Apart from this, Orange alert has been issued for 12 districts of the state and some areas of Maharashtra. With this, fishermen living in the coastal areas of Odisha have been warned not to go to sea during the next 24 hours. Recently, the Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for the next 24 hours for Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, while 48 hours for Vidarbha and Konkan region of Maharashtra. The department says heavy rainfall may occur in these areas on Saturday and Sunday.
