New Delhi: North India, including Delhi, has been reeling under severe cold for the last few years. According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature in the regions of North India is likely to drop to -4 degrees Celsius and the maximum by 2 degrees Celsius. According to the weather expert's tweet, it will experience snowy, severe cold between January 14 and 19 and is likely to be at its extreme from January 16 to 18. Apart from this, 23 trains were reported to be running late in the Northern Railway area this morning amid the weather.

According to the department, a severe cold will continue in Jammu and Kashmir as well. The minimum temperature in the state is expected to drop to -6 degrees Celsius. Apart from this, Punjab, Haryana, New Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and North Madhya Pradesh will be in the grip of a severe cold wave during the week. The minimum temperature of these states will be between 0 and 4 degrees Celsius.

The foggy situation in north India has improved in the last few days due to strong winds due to western disturbances, but according to weather experts, this relief will not last long and the fog will return soon. Foggy conditions have slightly improved in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, and west Uttar Pradesh in the last few days. Visibility in Amritsar increased from 25 meters on January 11 to 450 meters on January 12. Similarly, visibility in Bathinda increased from 0 to 200 meters on January 12. Visibility in Chandigarh increased from 25 meters to 400 meters. IMD Shimla said that snowfall will continue in some areas of Lahaul-Spiti and Kinnaur for the next two days. Along with this, there will be light rain in Shimla and there is less chance of snowfall.
