New Delhi: Many parts of India are facing heavy rains these days. In states like Kerala, Gujarat and Maharashtra, rivers, and rivulets are all in spate due to rains. However, the monsoon has not been so strong in north India so far and there has been less than expected rainfall. Due to this, the sowing of paddy has been delayed. Amidst all this, the Meteorological Department (IMD) has expressed hope that the rain activity in the regions of north India will increase. According to the MET department, heavy rainfall is forecast in Jammu and Kashmir between July 27 and 30. Apart from this, heavy rain accompanied by thundershowers is also expected in some places. Rajasthan is likely to receive heavy rainfall from July 27, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar from July 28 to 30, and north Punjab and North Haryana-Chandigarh from July 27 to 30.
Talking about the weather in Delhi, today, on July 27, the minimum temperature may be 26 degrees and the maximum temperature maybe 35 degrees. According to the Meteorological Department, there may be light rain in some areas today also. The MET department has reported that heavy rainfall is likely to occur over West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura between July 27 and 30.
During the next 24 hours, heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at a few places with light to moderate rainfall over western parts of Rajasthan, Gujarat region, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Sikkim, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, interior Karnataka, according to weather forecasting agency Skymet. Light to moderate rainfall is possible over Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, the rest of North East India, parts of Jharkhand, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Saurashtra and Kutch, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Konkan and Goa, coastal areas, Karnataka and Kerala.
