Kolkata: Police has seized huge quantities of firearms, ammunition, fake notes and weapons and equipment from two districts of West Bengal. Officials have confirmed this on Tuesday. The police busted a racket supplying weapons at Farakka in Murshidabad district. On the basis of intelligence, police took action and arrested two bike riding youths in Shankarpur area after seeing them moving suspiciously.

Nine pistols, five pipe guns, 67 live cartridges, six empty magazines, fake notes worth Rs 60,000 have been recovered from their possession. Both the arrested youth are residents of Pakur in Jharkhand. District Superintendent of Police Mukesh said, "For some time we were getting information that some people from outside the district are about to reach arms to a person living in Farakka. We arrested the suppliers. We came to know the name of the desired recipient. We have raided, but he has not been found".

Baruipur District Superintendent of Police Rashid Munir Khan said that after getting the information, we raided a house in Jibontola and arrested two persons including the owner of the house. They have seized three guns, a pipe gun, a revolver, a 7 mm pistol, six other semi-made pistols, 10 live cartridges from their possession.
