Trinamool Congress MLA Nargis Begum On Saturday apologized to CPI (M) MLA Jahanra Khan. During the budget session in the West Bengal Legislative Assembly, Begum made objectionable remarks on Khan. Legislator Begum apologized to Memari at the behest of Speaker Biman Bandhopadhyay. During the motion of thanks on the Governor's address to the Legislative Assembly, Begum used some words that had to be removed from the proceedings of the Legislative Assembly in response to MLA Khan's statement from Jamuria. Khan had given a statement on rising crimes against women, on which Begum called them offensive words.

According to the media report, at the time when Begum made the comment, then Deputy Chairman Sukumar Hansda was sitting on the post of president. Urging all legislators to be careful with their words in the House, the speaker said that the issue has also been discussed in the Parliamentary Affairs Committee and members have considered the remarks unfortunate.

Let us tell you that Parliamentary Affairs Minister Partha Chatterjee also asked Begum to apologize. Chatterjee said that he was informed about the incident by ministers Firhad Hakim, Tapas Roy and CPIM leader Sujan Chakraborty. The minister said that he would ask all the members to be careful about choosing their words and to control themselves. Chakraborty raised Mamale during the budget session. He drew the attention of the Chairman towards issuing instructions to all the members to maintain the dignity of the House. Many opposition legislators protested against Begum's remarks. While she was sitting in peace. However, the situation turned normal when Begum apologized unconditionally.
