Anyone who wants to take advantage of the Aadhaar e-KYC feature needs to generate digitally signed documents from the UIDAI Resident Portal with the help of their Aadhaar details. Aadhaar e-KYC card is a reference ID with personal information such as the holder's name, address, photo, gender, date of birth, registered mobile number and registered email id, showing only the last four digits of the Aadhaar card number. This ID is also digitally signed in time stamp and XML language.

For your information, UIDAI says that the XML of the digitally signed Aadhaar card is valid in all offline Aadhaar verification features. This will allow service providers to be hired without asking for or storing the full Aadhaar number. For this, citizens can provide their digitally signed Aadhaar with XML zip file, share code with consent to the service provider and in turn services without offline Aadhaar card. Legally, the service provider cannot share this XML file or share code with anyone.

Your information will go on to tell https://resident.uidai.gov.in/offlineaadhaar to get that offline basis. You'll then need to enter the Aadhaar card number and the security code that appears on the screen. After these details, you'll need to click on the 'Send OTP' button, followed by an OTP on the mobile number registered with Aadhaar. Now you'll need to enter this OTP and create a share code that will work as a password for your Zip file. Then you'll need to click on the 'download' button and your file with Aadhaar XML will be downloaded.
