Amritsar: After the inauguration of the stubble management plant in Punjab, a big statement of former Chief Minister of the state Captain Amarinder Singh has come to the fore. He has termed the claim of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann as fake, in which he had told that the plant was set up by a German company. Captain Amarinder Singh has attacked the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government for taking credit for the Verbio plant. Amarinder has rubbished Chief Minister Mann's claim of taking credit for the Verbio AG bio-energy plant in Sangrur district. He said that the project was considered during his government in 2019.

Responding to CM Bhagwant Mann's claims, Captain Amarinder Singh has stated that, after being presented by COO Oliver Ludtke during the Invest Punjab Summit in December that year, all modalities for setting up the plant were finalized in 2019. He has said that the plant was to start functioning from 2020, but due to the corona virus epidemic, its operation was delayed. He said that the AAP government is taking credit for the work done during his tenure.

CM Amarinder Singh also shared a screenshot of the tweet dated December 6, 2019, and said that he had already met Oliver Ludtke. Capt Amarinder Singh tweeted that day and wrote, ''Oliver Ludtke, COO, Verbio Global presented his vision of a ‘Green Gas Revolution’ in Invest Punjab. His upcoming plant near Sangrur will process around 1.10 lakh tonnes of paddy straw from 2020. With more such industrial factories, Punjab will soon be freed from stubble burning.''
