Lucknow: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo and former Uttar Pradesh CM Mayawati has rubbished the reports about an alliance with the BJP. This has put an end to the speculation of BJP being a B team. Let us inform that in the past, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had praised the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), after which the BJP was being described as the BJP's B team in the media.

Mayawati said on this that there is no truth in this at all. BSP would have been the B team of BJP, then why did the Samajwadi Party (SP) contest the assembly elections in UP once and the Lok Sabha elections in alliance with the BSP. In fact, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had said in an interview given to a TV channel that Mayawati has her hold on the land, but she does not know how much it will change in the seat. Shah had also said that Jatav and Muslim votes would go with Mayawati in large numbers.

After this interview of Shah, there were speculations in the media that if needed, the BSP can go with the BJP. When asked about Amit Shah's statement that the BSP's relevance should continue, Mayawati said it is her greatness that she is accepting the truth. I also want to tell them that in UP, BSP is getting votes not only of Dalits and Muslims, but also of other backward classes and upper castes.
