A PIL was filed by AAP leader Deepak Vajpayee regarding the re-registration of the same vehicle. On this matter, a bench of Chief Justice DN Patel and Justice Talwant Singh has issued a notice to the Ministry of Transport on the petitioner's petition and asked for his favor. On this matter, AAP leader Deepak Vajpayee, who is also the petitioner, in this case, has said that the rules related to re-registration when transporting a vehicle from one state to another is absurd. He has said that in such cases vehicle owners have difficulty in getting a refund of tax paid in the previous state.

He has further told that the first vehicle owner pays road tax in the new state. Then they have to go to the previous state for a refund after taking the receipt. Due to this, vehicle owners have to make frequent rounds of RTO. The petitioner says that the whole process is expensive and impractical. Now it is to be seen how the central government responds to this notice of the court. In the coming times whether this re-registration rule will be removed or will remain the same.
