NEW DELHI: A Rajya Sabha MP from the Nationalist Congress Party has stated that women in Karnataka are not allowed to select what they wear, referring to the recent Hijab debate.

Fauzia Khan, speaking on the Motion of Thanks to the President's address, said, "What I eat, what I wear, whom I love, all of these are dictated by the government; where is the liberty that is prescribed in the constitution?" She also blamed the Union government for the 'Bulli Bai' app case, saying, "When photos of Muslim women were being auctioned online, the Central government was silent, so where is the feeling of fraternity?"

While addressing on the Motion of Thanks, BJP legislator Prakash Javadekar stated that the country has reached unprecedented levels of growth since the Modi government took power in 2014.

In describing the Union government's accomplishments, Javadekar stated that "all-round development has been made in all fields." According to him, there is no longer any unmanned railway crossings, which was one of the main causes of accidents in the past.

Javadekar  said, only the BJP government, , could effectively build the Ram temple in Ayodhya. Opposition parties have mocked Sri Ram's existence, claiming that he is a "imaginary myth" in court, he continued, while wondering what these parties have done for the Ram temple.
