London: batsman Shakib Al Hasan (64, 2/4) 47) had a superb all-around performance in his 200th match, despite Bangladesh being defeated by a thrilling two-wicket defeat at the hands of New Zealand. The 245-run target from Bangladesh was achieved by New Zealand at 248 for eight in 47.1 overs. Mitchell Santner (17 *) scored a four to win the team.

As per the information, after opener Martin Guptill (25) and Colin Munro (24) lost wickets early, skipper Kane Williamson (40) and Ross Taylor (83) took the team to the threshold of victory by adding 105 runs for the third wicket. Apart from him, James Neesham played 25 runs. In the Bangladesh side, Mehdi Hasan Miraz, Mohammad Saifuddin and Mosaddek Hossain took two wickets each.

Shakib played a superb innings

With this, earlier, with Shakib's second successive fifties, the Bangladesh team piled up 244 runs in 49.2 overs. Bangladesh's eight batsmen reached double digits but barring Shakib, no one could play a major inning. Saifuddin, 29, was scored by Tamim Iqbal, 24, Soumya Sarkar, 25, Mohammad Mithun, 26, Mahmudullah 20. Shakib added 50 for the third wicket with Mushfiqur Rahim (19) and 41 runs for the fourth wicket with Mithun. The Bangladesh innings took just 21 fours and a six. New Zealand's side Matt Henry took four and Trent Boult took two wickets. Bolt also completed 150 wickets in ODIs in the meantime.
