Lucknow: Shivpal Yadav met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, on thursday evening, and hours after the meeting, his uncle Shivpal Yadav resigned from the state cabinet and as the chief of Samajwadi Party's state unit, that indicates a failure of the efforts to broker peace.

The meet of duo lasts for 20 minutes in what was seen as a bid to end the dispute that has stunned the party five months before the state assembly elections.
