Dehradun: The fast against the arrest of Mahant of Devi Temple at Dasna in Ghaziabad and Mahamandaleshwar Swami Yati Narasimhanand of Juna Akhara was arrested by former UP Shia Waqf Board Chairman Wasim Rizvi alias Jitendra Narayan Singh Tyagi on Saturday. He believes that he will not take food and water till Tyagi is granted bail. Earlier on Friday, the city magistrate and co-city arrived to persuade him, but he refused.

Swami Yati Narasimhanandsaraswati had sat on dharna at Sarbanandghat on Thursday evening demanding the release of Wasim Rizvi alias Jitendra Narayan Singh Tyagi, who was arrested in a case of making provocative speeches at the Dharma Sansad held at Khadakhadi in north Haridwar from December 17 to 19 and started a fast. Police forces remained stationed at the dharna site throughout the day on Friday morning. City Magistrate Awadhesh Singh and CO City Shekhar Suyal met him in the evening.

Swami Yati Narasimhananda told the city magistrate that everyone should be sent to jail. He said government officials are saving their jobs. He said Jitendra Narayan Singh Tyagi was not arrested when He was Wasim Rizvi. He will not take food and water unless Wasim Rizvi is granted bail. The same Kashi Sumeru Peethadhishwar Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami NarendranandSaraswati opposed the arrest of Wasim Rizvi alias Jitendra Narayan Singh Tyagi and said that the government and police administration should not forget to dare to test the patience of sanatan dharmalambis.
