These days south films are not only winning the Box office Battle but also winning the hearts of people. Whether it is big budget films like KGF, RRR and Vikram or small-budget movies like Kantara, Karthikeya 2 and Sita Ramam. All the movie are setting new recors. Over the years, films from down South have truly garnered a lot of positive response but before that. KGF actor Yash recently spoke about how films from South got bad representation in the North.
Speaking about the success of South film Yash said, “10 years ago, dubbed films became very popular here (North India). But, initially they all started watching with different opinions. People used to make fun of South films. They were like 'yeh kya action hai, udd raha hai sab' (what is this action, everything is flying). That's how it started and eventually they got hooked on to that and they started understanding that art form. The problem with that was our films were sold for a bare minimum price, people used to do bad quality dubbing and it used to be presented in a bad way with funny names.”
On the Professional front, Yash is believed to be working with director Narthan on his next project, tentatively titled Yash19 and an official announcement is awaited soon. On the work front, Yash predominately works in Kannada films. For those unaware, the actor kick-started his acting career on the small screen later he made his big screen debut in the 2007 film Jambada Hudugi, followed by Moggina Manasu, Googly, Raja Huli, Masterpiece, and Santhu Straight Forward but he gained pan- India success after playing the role of Rocky Bhai in Prashanth Neel’s 2018 period action film and its sequel in 2022.
