SANAA: According to the Riyadh-led coalition, at least 16 persons were injured in a drone attack carried out by Yemen's Houthi militia on Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah Airport in the border city of Jazan.

According to a tweet from the Saudi Press Agency, the intercepted drone caused the casualties, including three critical cases among travellers. As per  reports, the coalition has promised to unleash a massive military campaign to prevent the Houthi militia's hostility.

On February 10, a similar attack on Saudi Arabia's Abha International Airport injured 12 civilians of all nationalities.

In retaliation for the kingdom's increased airstrikes on its installations in Yemen, the Houthi militia has launched repeated drone and missile attacks against Saudi border areas and other locations. The majority of the attempts were thwarted before they could reach their intended targets, according to the coalition.

Yemen has been engulfed in civil war since late 2014, when the Houthi militia seized control of several northern provinces and drove President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi's internationally recognised government out of the capital Sanaa.
