Lucknow: The Yogi Adityanath government continues its crackdown on Mukhtar Ansari and his associates from the interprovincial gang 191. On the morning of December 10th, the police targeted the house of Riyaz Ahmed Ansari, the Nagar Panchayat President and the main assistant of the mafia, located at Mauza Abdulpur in Ghazipur's Bahadurganj. He also operated his camp office from this location.
Riyaz Ansari is accused of misusing his position to construct an illegal building without the necessary permits on his wife Nikhat Parveen's property. The unauthorized construction, built on 760 square feet of land without an approved construction map, was demolished by a joint police and revenue team before sunrise at 5 am.
The action was taken based on a report from the Administrative Officer of Nagar Panchayat, Bahadurganj, in the presence of Deputy Collector Kasimabad and other officials. Riyaz Ansari is currently on the run, and authorities have announced a reward of Rs 25 thousand for information leading to his arrest. His wife has already been arrested.
Additionally, Riyaz Ansari faces charges of conspiring to secure a fake appointment for his wife, a former municipal chairman of Bahadurganj, as a junior teacher in a madrassa. An FIR was filed against her after a departmental inquiry confirmed the complaint, and she is currently out on bail.
The individuals involved in this case, including Riyaz Ansari, the then chairman of the selection committee Parvez Jamal, the then manager Nazir Ahmed, and the then principal Ziaul Islam, are being pursued by the local police squad and Special Operations Group (SOG). On December 2nd, the police issued notices under section 82 at their homes and public places, following a court order.
A day before the bulldozer action, the police declared Riyaz Ansari and his three companions as fugitives, announcing a reward of Rs 25,000 each. Property details have been sought, and if they fail to appear within the stipulated time, attachment proceedings may be initiated. The Yogi government's aggressive stance against mafias acquiring assets through illicit means has led to administrative action against Riyaz Ansari, a key ally of the don.
