Noida: Bulldozer action may soon be taken on the farmhouses built in the submergence area near the Yamuna river in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The number of these farmhouses is said to be around 1000. The expenses incurred in this entire operation will also have to be borne by the farmhouse owners. Due notices have also been sent to the concerned people for this action. Earlier bulldozers have demolished 150 farmhouses.

As per media reports, these illegal farmhouses are located in Sectors 150, 160, 168, and 135 of Noida. Noida Authority has got the final order to compensate the cost of their demolition from the owners themselves. Noida Authority CEO Ritu Maheshwari has also made it clear that the action will continue. A casino was caught a few days ago in a farmhouse here. After this, the process of demolition accelerated. These farmhouses have been told by the NGT to be built contrary to the rules of the Irrigation Department by flouting the rules.

According to the report, even before this, the Noida Authority had carried out a demolition drive on November 30 in the submerged area of Yamuna. Then 30 illegal farmhouses were demolished. Later a complaint was received that work has been started again on the constructions demolished by the authority. Also, the appearance of many farmhouses has changed. After the demolition, gates, etc. were also being installed in the new construction. Noida Authority has also taken cognizance of these complaints.

The intention of the government is to develop the riverfront by demolishing all illegal constructions on the banks of the Yamuna and Hindon rivers. About 5,036 hectares of land have been specified for this. Constructions like parks, cycle tracks, lakes, and gardens will be accomplished on the riverfront. It is being told that this plan of the authority is pending since 2015. Then the officers of the Noida Authority also went to see the Narmada River Front of Gujarat.
