Lucknow: The government's grip on Mukhtar Ansari, the mafia of Uttar Pradesh, is continuously tightening. In Ghazipur, the district administration on Wednesday attached a benami property worth more than Rs 5 crore belonging to the infamous 'IS 191 gang' leader and former Bahubali MLA Mukhtar Ansari.

According to the statement issued by the district administration, the District Magistrate of Ghazipur has taken attachment under Section 14(1) of the Gangster Act after considering the investigation report of the Ghazipur Police. It was informed that the attached property is situated on commercial land located at Mohalla Babadi in Ghazipur. This property is registered in the records of Revenue Department in the name of Anwar Shahzad and Sarjeel Raza, brother-in-law of Mukhtar Ansari.

It has been told in the statement that in order to attach the property, action is being taken to attach the said land on 27th April by Ghazipur Police and Administration. The area of ​​this land located at Babadi is 0.3134 hectares and its market value is about Rs.5 crore 10 lakh. Including this attachment, the Ghazipur police and administration have attached Mukhtar Ansari's property worth about Rs 65 crore so far. Along with this, illegal properties of about Rs 109 crore belonging to Mukhtar Ansari gang have been demolished.
