Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath government has issued a directive to use ivermectin tablet for the treatment and prevention of coronavirus infection. Now ivermectin tablet will be replaced with hydroxychloroquine. Along with the corona infected and the people in contact with them, health workers will also be given this medicine.

Ivermectin tablets are being used in many hospitals of the country as well as AIIMS, Lady Hardinge Medical College and Max Hospital in Delhi. The Health Department has been instructed to provide these medicines to protect people coming in contact with corona infected patients. On August 4, a meeting of technical experts led by the Director-General of the Department of Medical and Health Services, Uttar Pradesh, discussed the use of ivermectin tablets for the treatment and prevention of corona, after which to use it the next day Instructions have been issued.

During the last 24 hours, there have been 4658 new cases of coronavirus infection in Uttar Pradesh, while the death toll has increased to 1918 on Thursday due to the death of 61 more patients.
