14 Chinese nationals living in Noida without visas for 2 years arrested

New Delhi: A joint team of local intelligence units (LIU) and police detained 14 Chinese nationals from Noida's Sector-48 on Wednesday. There's also a woman involved. All of them were staying in Noida illegally even after the expiry of the visa period. The police have sent all of them to the detention centre in Delhi. Noida Zone DCP Rajesh S said LIU had received information that some Chinese nationals were living in Noida illegally.  

Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of police and LIU swung into action and detained 14 Chinese nationals who were illegally staying in the sector-49 police station area. There's also a woman involved. The detained persons have been identified as Junhui Yin, Chaunliu Gong, Honglin, Shilog Gang, Jitao Zang, Women Fiyan Tung, Ton Young, Xiaogang, Yingli, Zhi Liu, Tao Wang, Doo Lin Zang, Pen and Hong. They all hail from different cities in China.   

The DCP said that the visas of all the detained Chinese nationals expired in 2020. Since then, they have been living in Noida illegally. The police sent all of them to the detention centre in Delhi. The DCP said that all the citizens had applied for visa extensions. Their application was rejected. They did not give any information about this to other concerned agencies, including LIU. All the information about them has been provided by the police to the concerned departments in Delhi.
