Indian Railways is working in mission mode for the convenience and safety of the people. In the same process, railway stations in many States are being redeveloped and modernized. The Ministry of Railways is moving towards providing excellent facilities at railway stations across India under the Adarsh Scheme. There is a strategy to build 152 stations in UP as Model Railway Stations by next year. This was reported by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav in the Lok Sabha today (Wednesday). In fact, in the Lok Sabha, Upendra Singh Rawat questioned the Railway Minister whether the Government is strategizing to modernize existing trains and platforms all over India, especially in UP.

In response, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav informed that Indian Railways has identified 1253 stations for development under Adarsh Station Scheme, out of which 1206 stations have been developed so far. The remaining 47 stations are targeted to be developed under Adarsh Station Scheme in the financial year 2021-22. At the same time, the Railway Minister said that 152 railway stations have been identified in UP under the Adarsh Station Scheme. Out of these, 131 railway stations have been developed as per norms. On the other hand, a strategy has been chalked out to develop the remaining 21 railway stations in the financial year 2021-22.
