The 16th Nrityadhara Classical Dance Festival, hosted by the Drupad Dance Academy, showcased an array of emerging classical dance talents under the theme of Mahashivratri Nritarchana. Since its inception in 2019, the festival has aimed to provide a platform for budding artists to shine. This year, participants from various dance ensembles across the city mesmerized the audience with performances in Bharatanatyam, Kathak, and Odissi, spreading the river of devotion.

The event, inaugurated by guru Ashish Pillai and managed by Geeta Pillai, Deshkumar Nair, and Mr. Vikas Kumrawat, commenced on time. A total of 12 Bharatanatyam, 7 Odissi, 5 Kathak, and 2 semi-classical dance performances graced the stage.

In Bharatanatyam, captivating renditions such as Shiva Varnam, Ram Todayamangal, and various Kirtanams were presented, alongside energetic Tillana sequences. Kathak performances showcased the vibrant hues of rhythm, highlighted in beats like Teentaal, Rupak, and Raas Taal. Odissi dances reverently worshipped the divine through Mangalacharan, Shankara Pallavi, and more.

As the curtains drew to a close, all participating artists were duly honored. Outstanding performers were bestowed with the prestigious title of Nritya Nipun Samman and felicitated for their exemplary contributions to the festival.
