Srinagar: Action has begun to check the sudden rise in terror incidents in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. For this, hardcore Terrorists belonging to A and B categories lodged in jails in Jammu and Kashmir are being shifted to jails in other states. The first group of 26 terrorists lodged in various central jails of Kashmir Valley was sent to Agra Central Jail in UP on Friday (October 22, 2021).

According to media reports, the Union Territory administration has also issued an order under Section 10(B) of the Jammu and Kashmir Public Safety Act, 1978 to shift the terrorists. A list of 100 terrorists lodged in jails in Jammu and Kashmir is said to have been prepared by the security forces.  The terrorists are in touch with their sleeper cells outside even while in jail.

Media sources said that similar terrorists in jail have indirectly carried out the recent terrorist incidents through sleeper cells or assisted the terrorists who carried out the incident through their sleeper cells. 30 terrorists are in the A category while 70 terrorists have been placed in the B category. Security forces had threatened to flee from their jails. Out of the list of these 100 terrorists, 26 terrorists are being sent to jails in other states. The 26 terrorists were lodged in Kashmir jails from where they were evacuated to Srinagar airport amid high security. The terrorists are then being sent to Agra by chartered plane.
