Bhopal: A heart-rending scene was witnessed in Madhya Pradesh's Morena district on Saturday, where an 8-year-old boy was sitting with the body of his 2-year-old younger brother in his lap. The children's father Poojaram Jatav was busy arranging an ambulance to take home the body of his deceased son. Seeing the little boy sitting with the body on the roadside filled the hearts of the people and informed the authorities in this regard. The incident is being reported from Badafra village under Ambah in Morena district.

In fact, Poojaram Jatav's two-year-old son Raja's health suddenly deteriorated. Initially, Poojaram tried to cure his son at home, but when his stomach ache became unbearable, he rushed the child to Morena district hospital. Along with Poojaram, his elder son Gulshan (8 years) also came to the hospital. Raja, however, succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at the Morena district hospital. Poor and helpless Poojaram pleaded in front of the hospital authorities to arrange an ambulance to take the body back to his village, but they turned down the poor father's demand. After the hospital authorities refused to give an ambulance, the man came out of the hospital with the body of his child and sat on the road.

Poojaram Jatav, who ran a puncture shop to feed his family, did not get any vehicle from the hospital side and did not have enough money to pay him to go by another vehicle. When the aggrieved father was left with no other option, he took the drastic decision to leave his elder son Gulshan outside the hospital with the body so that he could go back home.

Poojaram's eldest son Gulshan hoped for his father's return, with his dead brother's head on his lap and sat in front of the hospital for half an hour. When the mob informed the authorities, the police arranged an ambulance and asked the driver to go to Poojaram Jatav's house. Speaking to the media, the poor father said, "The child's mother is not at home. I am a poor man and I don't know what my child ate and his condition deteriorated. When I showed up at the doctor he asked me to give the baby Eno and Heeng.'' According to the doctor's statement, I gave him Heeng and Eno, but his health did not improve. I was being asked to pay money for the ambulance from the hospital. Morena Civil Surgeon Vinod Gupta said, "We arranged for an ambulance. By the time the car arrived, the child's father was gone.''
