Akshay Kumar gets summoned by a Special Investigation Team in 2015 Punjab Sacrilege case

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Punjab Police has summoned actor  Akshay Kumar in the 2015 firing and sacrilege cases. In this case, Along with actor, Former Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal and former deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal are also summoned for an investigation. The punjab government shared this information through its Twitter account.

 Punjab government took to Twitter and shared the information about summon of Akshay Kumar. The Tweet of Punjab government reads "The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the police firing incidents in the wake of the Bargari sacrilege case has summoned the Badal father-son duo and actor Akshay Kumar for questioning in connection with the investigation next week."

In another tweets, the Govt of Punjab shared the date on which Akshay and others has to appear for SIT. The Tweet reads "While former chief minister Parkash Singh Badal has been asked to appear before SIT on November 16, former deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal has been summoned on November 19 and Akshay Kumar has been asked to come on November 21, at the Circuit House in Amritsar."

For the unversed, in June 2015, the first incident of sacrilege in this series took place.  Due to the sacrilenge incidents in June and October 2015, there were several protests in different parts of the Punjab state. The protesters were demanding tp take an action against people who desecrated 110 pages of Sacred book Guru Granth Sahib.
