Padmaavat starring Shahid Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh has finally been given a green signal from the Central Board of Film Certification. The movie helmed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali is now set to release on January 25, 2018. However, now we hear that the cast of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period drama including Deepika, Ranveer and Shahid will not promote Padmaavat. The makers worry that statements made at interviews could ‘cause further uproar’, ahead of the film’s January 25 release.

A source says, ‘’The makers want to keep promotional work minimal to avoid controversy. Also, the cast members are busy with other commitments.’’ Days before the release of the film, it was learnt that Sanjay's mother Leela Bhansali got emotional after watching Padmaavat.

A source informed, “Sanjay sir has shown ‘Padmaavat’ to his mother Leela and after watching the film, she got very emotional as she feels the movie is his best work. Sanjay sir’s mother is very happy and proud of his work in Padmavat. She can’t believe that even after all that her son and the film has gone through, it has turned out to be such a great tribute to the Rajput women and a beautiful film to watch.” The movie was earlier scheduled to release on December 1, 2017, but continuous protests and CBFC fiasco forced the makers to shift the date.
